Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 26 May 2026
These terms govern your use of the Ameen iOS app ("Ameen", "the app", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using Ameen, you agree to them.
If you have questions, email salaam@ameenapps.com.
1. Who can use Ameen
- You must be 13 years or older (Apple's minimum age category for our content)
- You agree to provide accurate information when signing up (real name or chosen display name, real email)
- One person per account — don't share accounts
2. What the app does
Ameen lets you:
- Share du'as with people you've added to private groups
- Memorise du'as with a spaced-repetition practice
- Recognise du'as from your screenshots (on-device OCR)
- See your latest received du'a on your home screen widget
The content shown to you is yours and the people you've added. We don't make any of it public.
3. Your content
When you share a du'a — whether from our library or a custom request — you're sending it to specific people. By sharing:
- You retain ownership of anything you write (custom du'a text, notes, group names you create)
- You grant us a limited licence to store and transmit your content as needed to make the app work (relaying it to the people you sent it to, syncing across your devices, sending push notifications)
- You're responsible for what you write — keep it appropriate. Du'as you make up should be sincere, not offensive
We don't claim ownership of your content and we won't use it for anything other than making the app work for you.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use Ameen to:
- Harass, threaten, or send abusive content to other users
- Create groups with offensive names
- Impersonate anyone
- Spam, scrape, or attempt to extract bulk data
- Reverse-engineer the app or attempt to bypass security
- Use the app for any purpose that's illegal in your jurisdiction
We can remove content, suspend accounts, or ban users who do these things, at our discretion.
5. Du'a content & accuracy
The curated du'a library is sourced from authentic collections: Hisnul Muslim, Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, an-Nasai, Ibn Majah, and the Quran. We attribute every entry to its source.
That said:
- We're a software company, not a fatwa authority. Use Ameen as a helpful daily companion, not a religious ruling.
- If you find an error — wrong Arabic, misattribution, weak narration we've cited as strong — email us and we'll fix it
- Transliterations are best-effort guides for non-Arabic readers; consult a qualified teacher for proper pronunciation
- Hadith narrations included are summaries — for full text and chains, refer to the cited source directly
6. Account & deletion
- You can stop using the app at any time
- You can delete your account by signing out, then emailing us. We wipe your server-side data within 30 days
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms — we'll try to explain why where possible
- Some data may be retained where required by law (e.g. abuse-investigation logs)
7. Availability & changes
- We aim to keep Ameen running, but we don't guarantee uptime
- We may update the app, change features, or discontinue parts of it. We'll try to warn you about significant changes via an in-app banner
- If we have to shut Ameen down entirely, we'll give you at least 30 days to export anything you care about
8. Payment (when it exists)
The current version of Ameen is free. If we add paid features in the future:
- Pricing will be shown clearly before you pay
- Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID
- Refunds go through Apple, not us — request via reportaproblem.apple.com
- Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period
9. Third-party services
Ameen is built on:
- Apple — App Store, Sign in with Apple, Push Notifications
- Google — Sign in with Google (when you choose to use it)
- Supabase — backend hosting (EU)
Their terms also apply when you use their parts of the app. We don't control them.
10. Disclaimers
Ameen is provided "as is" without warranties. We don't guarantee that:
- It'll work perfectly on every device
- Push notifications will always arrive instantly
- Every du'a is rendered in the script you expect on every device
- Servers will never go down
You agree that we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages (lost messages, missed reminders, etc.), issues caused by Apple, Google, your network provider, or your device, or anything beyond the price you paid for the app (£0 for free users).
This doesn't limit any rights you have under consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction — those override this clause where they apply.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we change anything material, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify active users via a one-time in-app banner.
Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales — unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country says otherwise.
